Find out what you can do next to demand the 'three freedoms' for the people of Burma.

Dear friend,
Thank you for joining the thousands of people who have taken action to support the people of Burma.
In Burma, criticising your government is still grounds for arrest, torture and a decades-long prison sentence handed down without judge or jury. It is a country where there hasn’t been an election in over 20 years, and the last time they held one, the results were ignored and the winner locked away.
So as Burma gets ready for its first election in a generation, it’s hard to imagine that conditions inside the country will remain safe in the face of such barefaced oppression. And we fear they could get much worse, with the military government already cracking down on independent journalism, ethnic minorities and other potential activists.
Now is the time to step up the international pressure to demand the 'three freedoms' of expression, peaceful assembly and association.
You've already signed our petition, but here's what you can do next to help:
Freedom of expression:
Add your photo and put yourself behind bars - each photo will automatically send messages to 9 foreign ministers with the opportunity to influence the Burmese junta.
Freedom of assembly:
Find an event in your area - from BBQs to rallies, there’s something for everyone
Freedom of association:
Get your family and friends to sign our petition - register now and we’ll send you a printable pack to make it easy.
At Amnesty International, our many successes have taught us that the action of people like you and I really does help secure freedom for those who are imprisoned, persecuted or living under oppression. Thank you for taking action.
With hope for the people of Burma,
Jenny, Rathana and the rest of the Burma campaign team
